I know its seems to have taken ages to complete, well it has in a way. Well most of the time it was only me working on the house during the week. My hubby assisted me at the weekends, when we were home. We did take ourselves on a few overseas trips and I was unwell on and off.
The kitchen was the first major internal renovation...

After results...
The entry to the walk-in butlers pantry is to the right of the coffee station as in photo above.
We were so pleased with the outcome of the kitchen... lots of bench space and storage galore!!
view into the laundry area...
The laundry finishes off the area nicely too... particularly with the large bench top to be able to fold clothes on. The cupboard in the top left of photo is the laundry chute storage area :-)
In connection with the kitchen is the dining room which was completed at the time same time...

and the reveal...
I love the wallpaper we chose... it blends really well with the paint colour, which was Tasman by Resene.
Then following on from the dining room is the lounge where we replaced the carpet and curtains. Painted the fireplace hearth and the rest of the room. Oh and closed in the concertina'd doorway in to the kitchen.

Following on from the kitchen, dining and lounge we then painted the spare bedrooms downstairs...
These were initially the children's rooms before they moved out... they also chose the original colour schemes!!

Then the next major overhaul was the main bathroom and ensuite downstairs...
 |
| The blue will be no longer!! |
I think the light strip underneath the new bath just adds that extra touch to the room, along with the bit of bling in the ceiling!...
The ensuite...

Here we just put in new glass sliding doors on the shower, replaced the vanity and the toilet. Painted and installed new flooring and heated towel rail...
The upstairs we refreshened it all up with a new colour of paint and replaced the carpet...

Here's the entrance way before and after pics... new flooring and change of colour in paint...

We totally love our new hard flooring option in the entrance/hallway... this also extends into the kitchen and laundry as well. Its so easy to keep clean!!
Now for the outside views...
The first area we improved was the washing line paving... this was rather messy and sunken and the wall to the garage was broken in areas...

Then the next stage was uplifting the old pavers, fencing and what was a lawn to incorporate a fully concreted entertaining area...
The next area was the side of the house... uplifting the concrete paving and to create a new concreted path and lay a new lawn....
We also changed the colour of the weatherboards outside too, replacing the cream weatherboards with Delta Grey from Resene and changing the yukky brown window frames with a crisp white Alabaster from Resene... The windows frames were paint stripped first.

The new owners are extremely happy in their new home :-) Job done!!
Thanks to everyone who helped hubby & I on turning our dated 1980 home around to a more modern home.
